Dels. Dickie Bell and Steve Landes have asked local governments, school boards and constitutional officers in their districts to support uncoupling the passing of a state budget from a Medicaid expansion.
Bell asked local groups for a letter or resolution to Gov. Terry McAuliffe, while Landes asked for a resolution of support of the separation of the two decisions.
Landes said his request for a resolution was because he felt "the governor and the Senate would pay more attention to official actions." And he said a report Tuesday indicated that more than 50 Virginia localities had passed resolutions in support separating the budget passage from Medicaid expansion.
