STAUNTON, VA – Delegate Richard P. “Dickie” Bell today encourages residents across Virginia to take time to remember Veterans this
In the 2011 General Assembly Session Delegate Bell patroned House Joint Resolution 608, which commemorates Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2011, with a moment of silence at 11:00 am.
Veterans Day this year will also serve as a prelude to the statewide commemoration of the centennial of President Woodrow Wilson’s election and presidency by the Virginia Commission on the Centennial of Woodrow Wilson’s Presidency on which Delegate Bell sits.
“I would like to encourage residents throughout the Commonwealth to pause at 11:00 am tomorrow to remember the sacrifices and contributions of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who have served this great nation in defense liberty.” said Bell. “These men and women, as well as their families, have made significant sacrifices, and we owe them a great deal of gratitude. I hope that the residents of the 20th
District will join me in honoring our Veterans tomorrow.”
Elected to the House of Delegates in 2009, Delegate Bell represents the 20th District, which currently includes Highland County, portions of
Augusta and Rockingham Counties, and the City of Staunton. The newly drawn 20th District will also include parts of Nelson County and the City of Waynesboro.
