STAUNTON,VA – Delegate Richard P. “Dickie” Bell (R-Staunton) today commended Governor McDonnell and the City of Staunton for helping to foster the economic environment that will allow Cadence, Incorporated to expand their business in Staunton.
The announcement came at 2:45 pm on Monday, May 23 at Green Hills Industry and Technology Park. Governor McDonnell announced that Cadence, Inc will be undergoing a 30,000 square foot expansion. This $16 million investment will create over 65 jobs in our area.
“I would like to commend Governor McDonnell and the City of Staunton for their efforts in making this possible. At a time of economic uncertainty, it is great to hear that a prominent business in the area is able to expand and bring new jobs to our area.” said Bell. “I am also pleased to learn that $150 thousand dollars from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund helped make this possible. This is precisely the reason that I supported increasing the opportunity fund, to help foster job growth and economic development.”
“I would also like to congratulate Mr. Martin Lightsey on this accomplishment.” added Bell “I want to thank him and Cadence, Inc for their continuing confidence in Staunton as the location for their business.”
Elected to the House of Delegates in 2009, Delegate Bell represents the 20th District, which includes Highland County, portions of Augusta and Rockingham Counties, and the City of Staunton.
