In God We Trust License Plate

As some of you may know, I will be carrying a bill in the 2011 General Assembly session to create a personalized license plate with our national motto, “In God We Trust”. In order for this to pass through the Transportation Committee, the Department of Motor Vehicles must have 350 pre-paid applications on file. We can’t get this passed without your help. If you are interested in purchasing an In God We Trust license plate, you can download an application at

Poll Results

Last month I asked you whether or not you would support legislation requiring newly manufactured school buses to have seatbelts for the children. An overwhelming number of you were opposed to adding seatbelts to school buses, citing that it could often cause as much damage as it prevents. My Legislative Aide and I traveled to Lynchburg earlier this month to the Sonny Merryman bus facility to discuss this with them, and it would appear that you are right. We spent a couple of hours at the facility reviewing data and viewing the different types of safety belts that can be added to busses. Ultimately, I have concluded that safety belts on buses can often cause more injury than they actually prevent. Thank you again for your feedback on this issue.

E-mail Challenge

I am working hard to expand my email list over the next few weeks. To do this I need your help! I would like to encourage each of you to pass along one friend’s name to be added to the email list. The person who provides me with the most new emails for our list will get a special shout out in next month’s edition of Bell Sounds from the 20th! Thanks in advance for your help! Ask the Delegate With session approaching, I want to hear from you with your thoughts, questions, and concerns. I would like to encourage you to submit questions to me. You can email me your questions to, and I will provide a personal response.

The Virginia Republicans have had a lot of successes over the past few months, both in and out of session. Despite these successes, however, the fight is not over. Many on the other side are not happy about what we have done in Virginia. I have worked hard and stood strong for the people of the 20th District, but need your help in order to continue to do so. If you are able to help me with a donation of any amount, please click here to make a secure donation online, or you can mail a check made out to Bell for Delegate to P.O. Box 239, Staunton, VA 24402. Thank you in advance for your help.
