American Sign Language Bill

During the 2011 General Assembly Session Delegate Bell carried House Bill 1435, a bill that would require local school divisions who choose to offer American Sign Language to grant credit as a foreign language. Similarly, it would require public colleges and universities to recognize it as a foreign language for admissions purposes. This bill came to me from a group of students in Loudon Valley, and gained bipartisan support through the Senate and the Houes of Delegates.
