STAUNTON, VA – Del. Richard P. “Dickie” Bell(R-Staunton) announced today that Delegate Watkins Abbitt (I-Appomattox) has endorsed his re-election campaign.
“It gives me great pleasure to endorse Delegate Dickie Bell for re-election to the Virginia House of Delegates.” said Delegate Abbitt. “Dickie is a true public servant, and is committed to fighting for the ideals and values of our area. He is a strong bipartisan legislator who can
work across the aisle to get things done. I have full faith in his ability to serve Nelson County, and would encourage all 20th District Residents,
regardless of Party or political persuasion, to stand strong behind him.”
“I am pleased to have received Delegate Abbitt’s endorsement.” said Delegate Bell. “Delegate Abbitt is a strong legislator in the House of Delegates, and I am humbled and honored to have his support. His service will be missed in the House during the 2012 session.”
Delegate Abbitt represented the entirety Nelson County prior to the 2011 redistricting.
Elected to the House of Delegates in 2009, Delegate Bell represents the 20th District, which currently includes Highland County, portions of
Augusta and Rockingham Counties, and the City of Staunton. The newly drawn 20th District will also include parts of Nelson County and the City of Waynesboro.
